York University Scholarships for International Students in Canada, 2017



Applications are now being accepted for York University Scholarships. These scholarships are available to international applicants for pursuing the undergraduate programme.
York University is a public research university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is Canada’s third-largest university. York University has approximately 53,000 students, 7,000 faculties and staff, and 295,000 alumni worldwide.
To gain admission, students must demonstrate language proficiency in their program’s language of instruction.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing the undergraduate programme.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.
Scholarship Award:
International Circle of Scholars Scholarships: $15,000
Global Leader of Tomorrow Award ($20,000 x 4 years): $80,000
International Entrance Scholarship ($35,000 x 4 years): $140,000

Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: For Ontario high school students, the minimum admission requirement is the completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, and six 4U/M courses, including ENG4U. Students may also be required to fulfil Faculty or program-specific prerequisites.
English Language Requirement: Programs at Keele Campus are offered in English, while programs at Glendon Campus are offered in a bilingual environment (English and French). To gain admission, students must demonstrate language proficiency in their program’s language of instruction. These are general guidelines only. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. York University reserves the right to require a successfully completed language proficiency test.

DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS PROVIDED BY THE INTERFACULTY COUNCIL FOR DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION (IRO)

As one of its contributions to development cooperation,every academic year KU Leuven selects exceptional students from developing countries as scholarship candidates to obtain their PhD from the largest university of Flanders, Belgium. The programme is managed by IRO, the University's Interfaculty Council for Development Cooperation. The aim is to give students the opportunity to do their full PhD research at KU Leuven; therefore, other types of agreement (e.g. sandwich programmes) are excluded from the programme. Over the past ten years, the IRO Doctoral Scholarships Programme has supported more than a hundred PhD graduates. Having obtained their doctoral degree from KU Leuven, the PhD holders are now utilising their expertise back in their home countries either at a university (by doing academic research), government bodies, civil society organisations or in various sectors of the industry. KU Leuven is situated at about twenty kilometers from Brussels, the capital of both Belgi
